A New Chapter….
At The Bell House, we believe that dance is an action, not a product. A movement of connection, not an object of elite consumption. An effort of communion and community, in which creativity comes out of and seeds back into everyday life. Our living selves are continuous with our creating selves, and it's to investigate and celebrate that union that EXCHANGE Choreography Festival exists. We believe that dance should further people and relationships between people -- that movement is generative, not definitive.

Since its beginnings in 2009, EXCHANGE has been unique among dance festivals in the US in its emphasis on the human dimension of the art of choreography. This kind of dialogue among artists and viewers is rare -- particularly in this region, where development and networking opportunities for dancemakers are few and far between, as are chances for viewers to experience an intimate experience of the newest modern dance. These are the ways in which The Bell House has planted and cultivated this seed twelve years ago. We have been honored to be a part of the life-enhancing, body-renewing, hope-restoring gifts that dance can bring both IN and TO our communities.

Our path is departing the Tulsa area however, we will continue to support dance in Tulsa until we return. Your contributions, attendance and support have nurtured dance in Tulsa, and we are thrilled to have partnered with you throughout the years. Please continue to find ways to care for the culture made in Tulsa by attending live performances, supporting your artist friends, encouraging kids to explore the arts, and donating to arts organizations that care about the city as much as we do.

Take care and dance on.
